Educated Artisans need God

ACBA students are welcome at all Wesley Foundation events. Typically, they join our Wednesday Night Group in order to grow their faith, make new friends, and build up a strong relationship with God. Beyond that, we offer Historic Church Tours throughout the semester for ACBA students to get an inside look into some of the Holy City’s oldest sanctuaries, cemeteries, and fellowship halls. ACBA students also find practical ministry opportunities to grow their trade skills through mission trips, service projects, and more!

When I moved from California to Charleston, I had no friends, family, or social connections which made life outside of school a bit challenging…Even at local churches, I found it difficult to get plugged in because of the rigorous curriculum of the college. Once I heard about Wesley, I was super excited because they meet almost every night of the week and you get to interact with people from many different colleges. Through the Spring Retreat, fellowship events, and weekly Bible studies, I was able to find and form a new home in Charleston.

Charleston Southern University

CSU is nationally recognized as one of America’s best Christian Colleges, and we are blessed with the opportunity to engage with their amazing students each and every week.

Our CSU crew usually meets every Tuesday at 6:15PM in our Director’s living room which is less than 10 minutes away from campus! During our CSU gatherings, we enjoy a time of fellowship and friendship, as well as Bible Study together as we seek to grow our love for Christ and one another.

Wesley's always been a home for me. I didn't have any real contact or connections when I came to Charleston for school. I didn't even have a church for the first few weeks. But then I found Wesley and got everything that I needed. I found people that knew where I was from, that wanted to share the word of God with me, and wanted to invest in me.

College of Charleston

The College of Charleston is our city’s beautiful downtown campus that encourages students to think expansively and creatively about their place in the world. We love the opportunity to encourage students in that pursuit to center their perspectives on Christ and to learn what it means to take faith on as one’s own.

Our CofC group meets every Wednesday evening at 6:15pm in the Student Space. We are very thankful to Trinity UMC for this space, as it allows us to enjoy meal before worshipping and studying together in a cozy space.

The Wesley Foundation gives me the opportunity to be a part of Bible Studies guided by educated theologians who always encourage us to ask questions and deepen our relationship with God. I have the opportunity to make friends through Wesley; friends who show character, leadership, selflessness, and Godly attitudes. Finally, having been a part of a service team, Wesley has given me the opportunity to give back to the community in proactive ways. I use this word, “opportunity” intentionally, as we at College of Charleston are blessed to have such a ministry at our disposal.

The Citadel

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is a unique campus that pushes its students towards excellence in all aspects of life. We seek to support these students on this goal and have loved the opportunity to minister to all Cadets.

On Thursday evenings at 6:15, we meet in the Riverview Room in order to delve deep into our faith by wrestling with systematic theology and asking the questions most groups shy away from. We love having whole group lessons with small group discussions as it offers a place to grow in both faith and fellowship.

Wesley has without a doubt helped me with my relationship with God and the spiritual aspect of my life. When it comes to Wesley and Knob Year, it’s director, staff, and members have given me more than just a place to go when I got bored. Wesley gave me a space to escape cadet life and meet people that had been in my place not too long ago; it was a place to laugh and share experiences while eating great food.

Trident Technical College

Online Students deserve in-person fellowship

Trident Tech students can find a spiritual home with Wesley! TTC students are invited to any and all Wesley events. We offer a place for TTC students to spend time with their classmates and folks from other campuses. Through this fellowship, Christian relationships are formed and fostered in order to grow students closer to each other, closer to themselves, and, most importantly, closer to God. Come check us out!

Wesley has helped me as a Trident student because it gives a place to belong and create lasting friendships with people from all over. Wesley is a place that helps me keep my faith strong and at the forefront of my mind while being a college student.
